While this article was written more than 3 years ago, the viewpoints on weddings are intriguing. It cites that extravagant weddings are on the rise, but I think that they have always been this way. It's just that they are getting more attention nowadays because of influences of high profile figures (i.e., celebrity weddings). Incidentally, this article was a prelude to a book called "Cinderella Dreams."
