Got me thinking

Is there really such a thing as soul mate? There are some people who marry; believing that the person they are with is their soul mate. This is the individual they have been waiting for their whole life. One that seems to be yin in the yang. But, is it really possible?

I don't believe there is such a thing as a soul-mate. Honestly, that would mean that success was automatic and failure an abberation. Real relationships are trophies of grace that were bought with tears and kindness.

At least, that's what I think.

It depends on your definition od 'soulmate'... to me it's someone I connect with at a very deep level.

Who 'gets' me, and I 'get' her. We understand each others hopes, dreams, fears, needs, desires and such, as though they were our own.

Finding one is far from automatic... keeping one is even harder!!

Even if you find that soulmate, it takes hard work, and committment, to forge a long term, lasting relationship!

I think that the people you are most compatible with are like a pyramid-with your soulmate at the top, and as you go down, you find people you are less and less compatible with. There could be hundreds of people on this pyramid. If you find any of the people toward the top, you are so compatible with them, that you won't know whether they are your actual soulmate or not. If you think that you should only be with your one soulmate, and you never find that person, does that mean you should just be alone forever? How sad.

If people "believe it" then isn't that enough? our perception is our reality most often.

True. It's our perception of reality that makes it matter.
